WiFi Tracer

Support

How can we help?

Email support@faithdevs.com and include your iPhone model, iOS version and the tool you were using. We usually reply within two business days.

Why does it say “Hidden by iOS” instead of my Wi‑Fi name?

iOS only shares the Wi‑Fi name (SSID) with apps that have Precise Location. Open Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › WiFi Tracer, choose While Using the App and turn on Precise Location. WiFi Tracer never stores or sends your location.

Why does the LAN scan find no devices?

Why is my speed test lower than my plan?

Wi‑Fi is usually the limit: distance to the router, walls and other devices sharing the air. Test next to the router, then run Why is it slow? to see whether the Wi‑Fi link, router, DNS or provider is the bottleneck. Turn off VPNs and Low Data Mode before testing.

Why can’t I see signal strength in dBm or Wi‑Fi channels?

iOS doesn’t let App Store apps read signal strength, channels, nearby networks or MAC addresses. WiFi Tracer measures link quality from latency, jitter and loss to your router instead. Your router’s admin page (Wi‑Fi tool › Router admin) shows channels.

Monitors stopped alerting me.

Monitors and new-device alerts run while WiFi Tracer is open, because iOS background refresh is too irregular for minute-by-minute checks. Keep the app open on a charger with Keep screen awake on for long sessions.

How do I send my provider proof of slow speeds?

Open ISP evidence report. It collects your speed tests and outages into a PDF you can email to your internet provider.
